There is a great deal of mystery and misconception surrounding tarot. Popular media often portrays divination as either a party trick or a dramatic omen of doom, leading many people to fear tarot, believing it can predict misfortune or even death. On the other hand, some view it as a tool that will instantly solve their problems or provide the validation they seek. I think many of us who have experienced a tarot reading have, at some point, fallen into this way of thinking.
Over the years, I have learned that the most rewarding way to work with tarot is simply to converse with the cards as you would with a trusted friend. By allowing the story to unfold naturally on the table, we create space to discuss, explore, and uncover the truth you are seeking. Often, what we ask is not the same as what we truly need to understand. Sometimes the insight we need is one we did not even know we were looking for. By moving beyond a fixed question or a predetermined number of cards, we create room for realisations, epiphanies, and deeper self-discovery.
This style of reading has evolved through my own practice. I came to realise that spirit cannot be confined by human limitations and that the guidance we seek is often already present in our lives, we simply struggle to recognise it or understand the lessons it is trying to teach us. When I attempted to follow traditional tarot-reading I had seen in others, I often felt blocked and disconnected from my intuition. Sticking rigidly to a set structure did not work for me, which ultimately led me to develop the approach I use today.
In my readings, I trust both my intuition as the reader and yours as the seeker. Together, guided by the messages of the cards, we follow the conversation wherever it needs to go. I do not limit the number of cards drawn or the number of decks used. I do not ignore messages that fall outside the original question. Instead, we explore everything that emerges, allowing the reading to reveal its full story. Because each session unfolds differently, readings are charged by time rather than by spread or question. This allows the conversation to remain fluid and flexible, flowing naturally like a river guided by intention.
